Abstract: We simulate collapse of a Yang-Mills (YM) field in pre-existing Schwarzschild spacetime and asymptotically flat spacetime.

(1)Regarding the first model, we find that after two collisions with the potential term of the YM field, the system eventually ends at an inner horizon.

(2)Regarding the second model, it is observed that both inner and outer horizons form. No spacelike singularities emerge in the central region, which is significantly different from collapse of a charged scalar field toward Reissner-Nordstrom black hole formation. We find that the mass inflation phenomenon does not occur in the vicinity of the inner horizon of a YM black hole, which is dramatically different from Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordstrom and Kerr black holes. We make a conjecture: in spherical collapse of a matter field with a traceless energy-momentum tensor, no spacelike singularity forms in the central region.
