Title: Multi-peak solutions for semilinear elliptic equations with nearly critical Sobolev exponents in lower dimensions

Abstract: This talk is concerned with semilinear elliptic equations. We show the existence of multi-peak solutions to the above equations in lower dimensions by combining a finite reduction argument and local Pohozaev type identities. The existence of multi-peak solutions in higher dimensions has been obtained by Hirano, Micheletti and Pistoia. We believe that the new ideas and methods developed in the present talk can be employed to study many other nonlocal and higher order elliptic equations with critical nonlinearity. This work is based on the joint work with Prof. Daomin Cao and Prof. Peng Luo.
